Discussion adalah salah satu ungkapan yang biasa dibacakan oleh moderator atau
pembawa acara dalam sebuah diskusi Bahasa Inggris.
Berikut adalah contoh Opening
Discussion yang biasa digunakan oleh Siswa Siswi di Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul
Ulum 2 Kecamatan Gondanglegi Kabupaten Malang.

praise I present to the Almighty Allah due to His blessing. May Allah bless His
last Messenger Mohammed PBUH (Peace Be Upon Him).
Excellency
our English instructor, Mr. Abdurrohman Syah and all my beloved classmates.
Today is Sunday, March 17, 2005 our program this morning is
discussion. It is 12:00
and by saying “Bismillaahirrahmaanirrahiim” our English program
is formally open.
Dear audience, boys and girls! Our topic for our
discussion this morning is ……… this topic will be presented by …. I ask….. to sit on the front chair ….
Well,
dear audience boys and girls, as usual. This discussion will be begun by
reading the presentation. Now, I give the opportunity to …….. to present
his/her writing
Dear audience, boys and girls! We have listened to the
presentation which was read by …… Thanks for reading the presentation.
Now, let’s continue
to the following step namely, English discussion. And before our discussion
takes place, I want to tell you know first, that in every term, there will be
only four questions. Well, to continue our English program, now, I open the
first term. Please raise your right hand, and say your name aloud if you want
to ask question.
